According to JR West Japan, the Sanyo Shinkansen, a high-speed rail line connecting Osaka and Hakata (Fukuoka), experienced service disruptions due to an incident involving a train and a person at Higashi-Hiroshima Station. As a result, train operations between Shin-Osaka Station and Hakata Station were temporarily halted.
However, as of just after 9 PM local time, services resumed on the sections between Shin-Osaka Station and Okayama Station, as well as between Hiroshima Station and Hakata Station, in both directions. Despite this progress, train services between Okayama Station and Hiroshima Station remain suspended.
JR West Japan anticipates that full service across the entire line may resume around 9:30 PM.
