Record Rainfall Near Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture Raises Disaster Risks

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), Toyooka City, located in Hyogo Prefecture (a region in western Japan), experienced an intense downpour, with radar data indicating approximately 100 millimeters (about 4 inches) of rain fell within just one hour, up until 7 PM.

Due to the imminent risk of disasters such as flooding and landslides, the JMA has issued a “Record Short-Term Heavy Rain Information” alert. They are urging residents to take precautions to ensure their safety.
