Typhoon No. 15 Develops, Approaching Western Japan with Heavy Rain Forecasted in Southern Kyushu

At 3 AM on October 4th, a tropical depression located off the eastern coast of Amami Oshima, an island in the southern part of Japan, intensified into Typhoon No. 15. This storm is projected to move closer to Western Japan in the coming days.

As the typhoon approaches, Southern Kyushu, which is part of the Kyushu region (the southernmost of Japan’s four main islands), is already experiencing localized heavy rainfall. Residents are advised to remain vigilant for potential hazards such as landslides and flooding in low-lying areas.
