In a troubling incident in Japan, two men in their 30s have been arrested for breaking into the home of a man who operates a so-called “exposure account” on social media. These accounts typically share sensitive or controversial information about individuals, often without their consent.
Upon entering the victim’s residence, the suspects allegedly assaulted him and forced him to kneel in a humiliating manner. The police, specifically the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, are investigating the case, believing that the motive behind the attack was to compel the victim to delete certain posts from his account.
This incident highlights the ongoing issues surrounding online harassment and the lengths to which some individuals may go to silence dissent or criticism on social media platforms.
