Record Rainfall in Koto Ward, Tokyo Raises Disaster Concerns

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), Koto Ward, located in Tokyo, Japan, experienced an extraordinary downpour early in the morning. Radar analysis indicated that approximately 100 millimeters (about 4 inches) of rain fell within just one hour, up until 6:30 AM.

This level of rainfall poses a significant risk of disasters, leading the JMA to issue a “Record Short-Term Heavy Rain Information” alert. They are urging residents to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
