Record Rainfall Near Gojome Town in Akita Prefecture Raises Disaster Risks

The Japan Meteorological Agency has reported that Gojome Town, located in Akita Prefecture in northern Japan, experienced intense rainfall early this morning. Radar analysis indicates that approximately 100 millimeters of rain fell within just one hour, up until 1:10 AM.

Due to the imminent risk of disasters, the agency has issued a ‘Record Short-Term Heavy Rain Information’ alert, urging residents to take precautions for their safety.
