This level of rainfall is considered extreme and poses a significant risk of disasters such as flooding and landslides.
In response to this alarming weather event, the JMA has issued a ‘Record Short-Term Heavy Rain Information’ alert, urging residents to take precautions and ensure their safety. Chiba Prefecture is situated on the eastern coast of Honshu, Japan’s main island, and is known for its agricultural areas and proximity to Tokyo.
