MUJI Passport App to Be Renamed and Revamped in September

Tokyo, Japan – May 28, 2025** — Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd., the company behind the minimalist lifestyle brand MUJI, has announced a complete renewal of its widely-used smartphone application, MUJI passport, scheduled for early September. The app will be renamed the MUJI App and will feature enhanced functionalities and a refreshed user experience aimed at improving customer convenience and community engagement.

Launched in May 2013, MUJI passport has become essential for shoppers, offering point rewards, product updates, and store information. As of August 2023, the app boasts over 15.69 million annual active users in Japan alone.

The revamped app, based on the concept “Meet what’s just right. Your partner in everyday living,” will also function as a digital membership card. Users can earn loyalty points automatically by simply presenting the app at checkout.

The redesigned interface will make it easier for users to browse products, navigate the MUJI online store, and access personalized information. The update aims to provide a more seamless and engaging experience for everyday shopping.

Additionally, the existing MUJI Mile Service will be replaced by the MUJI GOOD PROGRAM. In this new system, accumulated points can be used not only for purchases but also for charitable donations, including support for disaster relief and recovery efforts.

Further information about the renewed MUJI passport app is expected to be released in early August.
