Japanese Agriculture Minister Visits Yasukuni Shrine on End of War Day

On August 15, known as ‘End of War Day’ in Japan, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Koizumi, visited the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo around 8 AM.

The Yasukuni Shrine is a controversial site that honors Japan’s war dead, including those who fought in World War II. It has been a point of contention both domestically and internationally due to its association with Japan’s militaristic past.
