Nobeoka City, located in Miyazaki Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan, has declared an emergency safety measure for certain areas within the city. This decision comes as a result of the formation of a linear precipitation belt, which has significantly increased the risk of landslides and flooding.
As of 7:30 PM local time, the city has advised approximately 22,238 households, totaling around 47,683 residents, to take immediate action to ensure their safety. The alert has reached the highest warning level, known as ‘Level 5,’ which indicates extreme danger.
Residents are urged to assess their surroundings and seek refuge in safer locations, such as the upper floors of nearby buildings or homes situated away from hillsides. The city emphasizes the importance of taking proactive measures to protect lives in this critical situation.
