Construction Company in Osaka Under Investigation for Allegedly Operating Without Permit for Expo Pavilion

Authorities in Osaka are investigating a local construction company suspected of undertaking work on the Angola Pavilion for the upcoming World Expo in Kansai without the required permits. The Expo, officially known as the World Expo 2025, is set to take place in Osaka, a major city in Japan’s Kansai region.

On the morning of the 13th, police conducted searches at the home of the company’s president and other locations associated with the firm. Under Japanese law, construction companies must obtain permits from the national government and local authorities, such as Osaka Prefecture, before commencing work on construction projects.

This investigation raises concerns about compliance with regulations designed to ensure safety and quality in construction, particularly for a high-profile event like the World Expo.
