August 12 marks the 40th anniversary of the Japan Airlines jumbo jet crash, one of the deadliest aviation disasters in history, which resulted in the loss of 520 lives. The tragic incident occurred in 1985 when a flight from Tokyo to Osaka crashed in the mountains of Ueno Village, located in Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
To honor the victims, a memorial climb was organized, attended by family members of the deceased and other stakeholders. This event serves as a way for the bereaved to pay their respects and remember their loved ones. Following the climb, a formal memorial ceremony commenced at 6 PM, where attendees gathered to reflect on the tragedy and its lasting impact.
